Commitment For Open Heavens. 1
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his course, According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord… And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
Luke 1:5-11.”
Securing open heavens is not all about prayers, there are lifestyles of commitment everyone must adhere to, for ours is a microwave generation, known for instant things, once a need is not met instantly, many quickly abandon whatever relationship they have and move to another one which promises instant yield.
Commitment is flippantly used by many while living contrary to their profession. Open Heavens presupposes you position yourself even for the unknown great things God wants to do through His beloved children on a worldwide scale in transformative songs, works, books, ideas, inventions, ideologies, great works and insights.
Commitment in four levels will greatly help in securing open heavens.
Commitment Of Service Despite The Need. The opening scripture shows the Priest Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth in deep commitment of more than 40years, without a moment looking back, he kept serving the Lord even to an advanced age. Priests enter into service in the Temple from age 30years upwards; “Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: Take a census of the sons of Kohath from among the children of Levi, by their families, by their fathers’ house, from thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, all who enter the service to do the work in the tabernacle of meeting. Numbers 4:1-3. To be well stricken in years used to describe Zechariah and Elizabeth in the opening scriptures is an old word meaning someone above 70years.
Commitment to God will always set you apart from the crowd, this is the point God wants to bring us into, to be committed whether we receive blessings or not, to stay glued to our God given responsibilities or moral duties despite challenges.
