The Worthy Legacy
“Then Joseph took an oath from the children of Israel, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here. Genesis 50:25. NKJV.” Feb 4
Structure or edifice can be dedicated to your remembrance, but those who use it may only give your name a mere mental accent, not the real essence of your life, career and sacrifice.
That’s why those who lived out this truth didn’t focus on building many houses or have streets named after them, rather, they lived to impact lives and leave a worthy legacy in the hearts and minds of others.
I pity Politicians who stole billions of Naira and impoverished their people, they have not really discovered what real living is all about.
Joseph, despite the fact that he wielded power for 80years in Egypt, he didn’t build monuments for himself, but instructed his people not to bury him but rather embalm him so that his bones can be carried out of Egypt when they eventually leave.
Joseph believed the promise of God to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and he looked forward to the Promised Land.
Reflection: everything doesn’t end here, Jesus promised an eternal home in heaven, labour to be there.
